Telemedicine

We now have the legal ability to offer telemedicine services in certain situations.

In order to qualify for a telehealth consult, the pet must be an existing patient of Novey Animal Hospital and must have had an examination with one of our doctors within the last year. These consults are conducted via Zoom and allow us to evaluate non-urgent concerns not likely to require diagnostics for care.

Telemedicine Information

Problems such as superficial abrasions and wounds, consults on your pet’s care for behavioral issues, chronic case management and some quality of life evaluations are examples of problems that may be managed by telehealth services. We can also do follow up examinations/consultations on some problems that were previously seen in person. Generally, vomiting, diarrhea, skin and ears and problems such as limping will need to be seen in person.

Please contact us if you would like to explore whether telehealth services may be the right choice for your pet. A technician will triage your call, determine whether your pet is a candidate for telehealth, and then will schedule a Zoom call via email. If we determine that your pet should be seen by the veterinarian, you will be asked to schedule an in-person examination. We are continuing dropoff care in accordance with our COVID-19 prevention protocols which allows us to continue to safely provide high quality veterinary care for our patients and their families.
